The vortalHEALTH platform was set up in 2008 to meet the new Public Contracts Code regulation (DL nº 18/2008 - Código dos Contratos Público) which came into force in 2008 and obliged all potential suppliers to use electronic contracting platforms.
Totally tailored to meet the specific requirements of the health sector, this platform is an innovative solution enabling public hospitals, the EPE’s group of hospitals, as well as private hospitals and private sector services to benefit from the simplification of the contracting process thanks to electronic platform contracting.
The platform presents a range of characteristics adapted to the health sector, such as the products and services classification system set up in accordance with POC-MS (The Portuguese Ministry of Health Official Accounting Plan), specific sector terms, among others. Also its capacity to be synchronized with almost all of the hospital management software stands out as one of its most important features. This in turn enables the optimization of the integration processes of two of the most important purchasing tools – sourcing and procurement.
